Established in 1906, Forest Research Institute, Dehradun has magnificent colonial style of architecture. FRI is spread over 2000 acres of extraordinary scenic and calm green fields having rows of trees. Here one can witness wide varieties of plants and trees from across the world. Tourists can enjoy the botanical garden as well as its six famous museums.
Robbers Cave is a favourite picnic spot for fun loving enthusiasts. Located near Anarwala village at 7.0 Km from the hotel. It is known for unusual cold springs. Named by the British, Robbers Cave is well known locally as “Guchhupani”.
Encircled between Sal trees, Lachhiwala has its name changed to “Nature Park” and provides a calm and fun loving environment for visitors. Apart from nature views, visitors like to enjoy in manmade water pools here. A stream from Suswa river is collected in a number of pools. This place is famous among trekkers and bird watchers due to it solitude environment.
Sahastradhara, which literally means “Thousand Fold Spring” is a famous tourist spot in Dehradun. Located at the Baldi river, It has a collection of water pools where water drips from limestone stalactites, turning it to sulphur springs. Sahastradhara also has a ropeway providing an airy ride to the mountaintop. One can enjoy with kids at “Joyland Water Park” too.
Tapkeshwar is a famous holy temple of Lord Shiva on the bank of seasonal Asan river near Dehradun. Known to have one of the oldest Shivling in the cave, Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple is located 6.3 kilometer from our hotel. As the water droplets continually drop on the Shivling, hence it was named as “Tapkeshwar”.
Buddha Temple is a beautiful Tibetan monastery, also called Mindrolling Monastery and was built in 1965 by his eminence the Kochen Rinpoche. Buddha Temple complex atmosphere provides mental peace. It was created as one of the four schools of Tibetan Religion. This temple complex is known as “Nyigma”.
Surrounded by Malsi Reserve Forest Malsi Deer park has it name changed to Dehradun Zoo and it is a major wildlife lovers attraction for spotting a herd of deer in their natural habitat. The park also has two-horned deer and Neelgai (Indian Antelope) as well. Kids can enjoy playing on the swings and slides. The park opens from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.
